Shad began his career in 1994 with NIS Financial and Ozark National Life, earning his FINRA Series 6 and his Life and Health Insurance License. In 2000, Shad joined Fredrickson Brown Insurance and developed the companies first individual life and health insurance department. In 2005, Sunflower Bank, parent company of Fredrickson Brown, asked Shad to create and develop the banks Trust Department for the State of Colorado. He is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications with minors in marketing and military science. He is an honorably discharged Army Veteran and was a Past President of the RE-1 School Board in Canon City.

Shad enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife Deanna who is kindergarten school teacher in Canon City. They have two adult children Keilah and Kreath.

In 2014, Shad joined The Mueller Companies as an investment adviser representative, working directly with Jeff Mueller. Shad’s role has allowed him to foster healthy, proactive, long-term client relationships. Due to some recent health concerns, Shad is stepping away from his day to day office responsibilities and will be “of counsel” for the balance of 2024.
